Rare 1940’s Alfred Meakin “Ballad” Soup Bowl CollectablesThe item is an Alfred Meakin soup bowl in the Ballad pattern which is considered very rare. The soup bowl was manufactured in the 1940s and is in a magnificent sun yellow pastel glaze with the bottom being white. The Ballad pattern was released in white, cream and yellow in limited quantities before being discontinued. The item is stamped underneath Alfred Meakin England. The soup bowl is in excellent condition with no damages noted. Height: 4 cm,

They ceased production after this period

The plate loss however adds to the character of the item and it is still in very good usable condition

A pair of birds is portrayed on 2 sides along with a series of black floral motifs along the base as well as beneath the rim

Pastel green and grey highlight the center of the plate and spectacular floral arrangements with roses and forget-me-nots in bouquets are displayed around the verge

This little pocket hand warmer is operated with a normal lighter fluid and provides comforting warmth for outdoor activities
