A curious old stone, obviously hand cut, takes centre stage in this piece: the diamond, every so slightly ovoid in outline, is cut not as a rose cut (a flat bottomed dome with triangular checkerboard facets), but rather as simply the crown facets of a full cut diamond: the central table is flat across and
