After seeing these beautiful creatures myself a few times over the past few years, I had a great discussion with my new local wood supplier of barky ash planks, about this lovely British animal. He quizzed me on why they have such short antlers and obviously I didn't know why! Apparently they shead their antlers once a year and therefore makes all the deer males and females look similar and young.
