Maguire's Farm ~ hand printed lithograph herrrings A hand stitched collage madeThis image was inspired by the words of a song "Mr. Maguire" (or Mick Maguire) about a farmer who goes courting Kate O'Donohue. Kate's mother is pleased at first because "He owns a farm a wee bit out of the town" but it doesn't end so well after he spends the money her father left her and "is always on the tear." Growing up I would have heard songs like this from the likes of Tommy Makem and Liam Clancy and many others. I made this lithograph myself
