Description
light and bright but with a certain roundness which harmonise and tone down with the classic bitterness
The inspiration for Black Slate is a Burgundian concept of village nomenclature
offering ripe cassis and liquorice on the nose
everything there for the die-hard Pinotage lover but with freshness and fuzz to appeal much more widely
it sports a brooding bouquet of black fruits
Pol Roger, Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill 2000 Domaine Hoffmann-Jayer light and bright but withA note of honey, soft toast and gentle citrus. On the palate, the Pinot component seems to show a little more red fruit. But also crisper and more youthful and not quite as full in the mouth. Hint of ginger on the palate and nose. I thought this was the 2004 from magnum. Julia Harding, jancisrobinson. com (17. 5)
