Amrut Peated Indian Single Malt Whisky 700ml (ABV 46%) Chestnut Liqueur custard – a spicy tingleAs India is too tropical a climate for peat to develop, this expression is made using peated Scottish barley, distilled and matured in ex Bourbon casks at Amrut Distillery in Bangalore. Nose A fascinating peat smoke; as comfortable as an old leather armchair; a hint of citrus, too. Palate An immediate sweetness akin to demerara sugar, followed by notes of highland peat. These notes build and become spicier, though the sweetness refuses to give way.
