Nirvana Nevermind UK DGC Label Award Aaron Fink 1971 concert which took place1993 in house DGC (Geffen) label award (i. e. non RIAA) celebrating platinum sales status of Nirvana's Nevermind album. This legendary album was released September 24, 1991 and certainly changed music. The release effectively ushered out hair metal and welcomed a new, almost punk infused raw rock sound. Fueled by incendiary single "Smells Like Teen Spirit" three other singles also did well on radio and MTV including "Come as You Are", "Lithium", and
