This spring Storm invites you to Movie for Change – 5 individual movie nights all on the theme of sustainability.
The last Thursday of every month, between 17-20, we welcome you to a movie night about sustainable development. With specially invited guests we will thereafter address and discuss problems and opportunities for sustainable development connected to the theme of the movies.
The events are co-produced with the Department of Urban Studies and the Leadership for Sustainability master’s programme.
On the theme of Sustainable Development Goal number
12 – Responsible consumption and production, we will kick the semester off with the movie The True Cost. A movie about the clothes we wear, the people who make them, and the impact the industry is having on our world.
The price of clothing has been decreasing for decades, while the human and environmental costs have grown dramatically. The True Cost explores the links between the consumer pressure for low-cost high fashion and the meagre existences of the sweatshop workers who produce the goods.
Special guests of the evening are Kim Gerlach from Vinokilo/Drivhuset and Jian Chen from SOPACT.
Worried you’ll get hungry? Pre-order a dinner wrap from Café Vindstilla at self-cost (food order deadline January 28th). There is also a microwave available. Feel free to bring some snacks!
